Available Scholarships: Check back December 2024 for 2025-2026 ScholarshipsThe Scholarship Program reflects our commitment to education and what is best for women and girls. Our goal is to promote the education of a wide range of worthy students, including those re-entering the workforce in our community. While our focus is on women, some scholarships are for men. Each scholarship has specific REQUIREMENTS. For example: educational status, high school student or graduate, gender (some scholarships are for women only), residency and financial need. All scholarships are for one year. Scholarships are granted for United States based educational institutions or programs. Study abroad programs for course credit at a US college or university are acceptable. Eligibility & Residence RequirementAnacortes High School or Cap Sante High School graduating senior or graduate; OR Anacortes Home School and Public/Private School graduating senior or graduate who is current resident of zip code 98221 and proof of residence; OR Current resident of zip code 98221 and proof of residence; OR Student attending school in Anacortes (e.g. Shannon Point Marine Center), and proof of attendance. Acceptable forms of proof of residence in zip code 98221 are: student ID, driver’s license, your utility bill, parental utility bill, or lease/rental agreement. Transcripts included with applications do NOT have to be official. Notice for All ApplicantsIf you have received a total of two (2) university, or college, or technical school scholarships from Soroptimist International of Anacortes, you are NOT eligible to apply for another scholarship. Live Your Dream; Dream It Be It; or Woman of Distinction awards are NOT considered a college scholarship. Scholarship CategoriesThere are two categories of scholarship awards: (1) Community College & Vocational-Technical and (2) College & University. Community College & Vocational-TechnicalScholarships fund Allied Health Studies, Education Studies, Return-to-Work training, Industrial Technology as well as General Studies or Vo-Tech Studies that lead to an Associate Degree, license, or certification. Soroptimist International of Anacortes will once again partner with Skagit Valley College Foundation to award scholarships, therefore students must be applying to or attending Skagit Valley College. Scholarships offered through the Foundation are listed under the Available Community College and Vo-Tech tab below. SVC Foundation Scholarship deadline has passed College & UniversityScholarships fund various fields of study and include education, health, music, arts, literature, math, science, engineering, marine or environmental studies, and community focused physical or mental health studies.
