COMMUNITY SERVICE

 

The Soroptimist club of Anacortes only has one fundraiser, their Thrift Shop.  Every year it provides the club with funding to provide assistance to many worthwhile causes.  In the year 2004-2005 over $54,000 was distributed to the following organizations:

In addition to this, over $25,000 was awarded in the spring of 2005 in scholarships to high school students preparing to enter college, and continuing college students.

 In the fall of 2004, over $9000 was dispersed to the winners of the Women’s Opportunity Award, Violet Richardson Award, Professional/Technical Award and the continuing education Fellowship Awards.
