Soroptimist is an international volunteer service organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.
The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women,” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve. The mission of Soroptimists is to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.
Soroptimist International of Anacortes only has one fundraiser, a Thrift Shop located on 3rd Street in Anacortes. The Thrift Shop is opened only two days per week (Tuesday and Friday) throughout the year. Through the efforts of all of the members of the club this Thrift Shop provided the club with funding necessary to contribute almost $90,000 to the Anacortes community and the worldwide community through Community Service Projects.
